Lexden Luxe explores the ultimate sleep experience with Hästens in Nice.
At Lexden Luxe, we believe that the pursuit of the “Ultimate Experience” is a journey through craftsmanship and the sensory details. Following our landmark event in November 2025, where we unveiled our coffee table book The Ultimate Experience, we have been continuing our dialogue with the visionaries who shape the high-end landscape.
On Friday, the 10th of April 2026, our Brand Manager, Julia Sand, and CEO, Christopher Brooks travelled to the Côte d’Azur for a strategic meeting at the Hästens flagship store in Nice. This “Sleep Spa” served as the perfect backdrop to discuss the evolving synergy between our two brands. Located just steps from the iconic Place Masséna.
A Legacy of excellence: The Hästens heritage
Hästens is a name synonymous with uncompromising quality. Founded in 1852 by Pehr Adolf Janson, the Swedish company began its journey as master saddlers. Over six generations, they have transitioned their expertise in leather and natural upholstery into the creation of what many consider the finest beds in the world. Since 1952, they have held the prestigious title of Purveyor to the Swedish Royal Court. A testament to a brand that prioritizes longevity over trends.

Our relationship with Hästens has deepened since they joined us for our November launch. Captivated by our exploration of the luxury segment, the Hästens team expressed a keen interest in our expertise regarding the customer journey. Our meeting with Eric, President of Swede Dreams, focused on potential collaborations and partnerships. We looked at how we can collectively elevate the “Ultimate Experience” for the discerning global traveler and homeowner.
The Art of the Sleep Spa: a hands-on experience
The highlight of our visit was the opportunity to step into the world of the “Sleep Spa.” Unlike mass-produced mattresses that rely on synthetic foams and adhesives, Hästens beds are living, breathing entities.
We learned firsthand why these beds are unique:
- The Power of Horsehair: Every bed is built using ethically sourced horsetail hair, which is hand-washed, spun, and steamed. Each curled strand acts like a tiny, natural spring, providing a level of ventilation and temperature regulation that synthetic materials simply cannot replicate.
- The Layering Technique: The beds are a masterclass in natural engineering, layering cotton, wool, and flax. This combination ensures that moisture is wicked away, keeping the sleeper at a perfect temperature throughout the night.
- Hand-Tufted Precision: We observed the signature blue-check pattern, serving a functional purpose. It guides the master craftsmen as they hand-stitch and tuft each layer to ensure the filling stays perfectly distributed for decades.
As we lay on the mattresses, the sensation was one of weightlessness. A feeling Eric explained is the result of thousands of individual springs working in harmony with the natural fibers. It is a product designed not just for a decade, but for a lifetime, backed by a 25-year guarantee.

Looking ahead
At Lexden Luxe, we are always searching for partners who share our dedication to “Authentic Personalisation”.
Our morning in Nice was a great immersion into a philosophy of wellbeing that mirrors our own.
We look forward to sharing more about our future ventures with Hästens.
We will continue to redefine what it means to live and sleep in the lap of luxury.
