At Lexden Luxe, our purpose is to ensure that brands serving UHNWIs are equipped to deliver client management excellence. In the superyacht world, it’s easy to focus solely on the high-profile highlights – taking delivery of a new vessel, embarking on a maiden voyage, or celebrating at glamorous shows like Palm Beach International Boat Show (PBIBS). While these moments are indeed unforgettable, they represent only a fraction of the client journey.
True luxury lies not only in spectacle, but also in the quieter, consistent experiences that build trust and enhance satisfaction over time. From chartering logistics to crew onboarding, and from transparent communication to post-purchase care, these operational touchpoints shape long-term relationships and reinforce a brand’s reputation.
That’s why PBIBS matters.
It offers insight into how the industry evolves to meet the full spectrum of client needs – from first-time charterers to seasoned owners.
From March 19-23, 2025, the PBIBS once again transformed the West Palm Beach waterfront into a dazzling showcase of luxury and innovation. Lexden Luxe was proud to attend this remarkable event, where over 1,000 boats were on display, including more than 200 superyachts and over 40 vessels exceeding 150 feet. The scale underscored PBIBS’s position as a key stage for the superyacht world.
The Windward VIP Club provided an exclusive sanctuary amidst the excitement. We enjoyed gourmet cuisine, premium open bar service, and luxury activations within a serene indoor-outdoor lounge. Our experience extended beyond the marina with VIP access to the Palm Beach Modern and Contemporary Art Fair – blending fine art and yachting for a richer luxury lifestyle experience.

Shaping a new narrative in the superyacht industry
PBIBS 2025 served as a platform where industry leaders shared perspectives on the future. Seminars reflected a clear shift: a growing focus on innovation, sustainability, and authentic storytelling.
At the Superyacht Show Pavilion, leaders explored the future of yacht construction and design. Ocean Alexander, Destry Darr Designs, and Leapher Yachts also shared perspectives on advanced materials and technology. The session on the state of the American superyacht market offered candid reflections from Westport Yachts, Numarine, Overmarine Group, and Denison Yachting. These discussions painted a clearer picture of shifting market dynamics.
A standout moment was the seminar hosted by Superyacht Life. There, we witnessed firsthand how initiatives like The Honours and World Boating Day are reshaping public perception. It was encouraging to see the sector use storytelling and community engagement to demonstrate positive global impact.
Client management and the owner’s journey: from chartering to ownership

One of the most valuable sessions for Lexden Luxe was the ‘Owner’s Perspective’ panel.
Matthew Csidei of M/Y Chanticleer and Merle Hinrich shared openly about ownership – from the joy of exploration to the complexity of operations behind the scenes.
The seminar on chartering before ownership proved invaluable, especially for those considering their first major step into yachting. For instance, industry insiders provided practical advice on choosing the right charter and understanding yacht management. Shannon McCoy (Worth Avenue Yachts), Captain Johannes Buis (Hakvoort TOP FIVE II) and Nate Cook (ARROW USA) also shared insights on how to build the ideal crew. Their lessons spoke directly to first-time buyers.
This aligns with Lexden Luxe’s ongoing studies into client relationship excellence. Our research highlights the importance of guided experiences and strategic relationships during the transition from chartering to ownership.
Understanding What Really Matters
For those aiming to lead in the space, the key is understanding what matters most to the client. And not just what the industry assumes they value.
Research by Lexden Luxe founder, Professor Dr. Phil Klaus, highlights four critical factors: the MEPA drivers of customer choice.
What was a key learning from the research into over 300 UHNWI clients is that the luxury companies that serve them do not know what really matters to them. This is not only a problem to meet their current needs, but a missed opportunity for growth and future differentiation.
